NWMCA - CA Cancels all cricket immediately
Date of Event North West Metropolitan Cricket Association: Tue Mar 17, 2020 12:53PM

To all Clubs,

Cricket Australia has strongly recommended that all community cricket matches and training be cancelled for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season.

Cricket Victoria has supported this stand and as such the Board of NWMCA has agreed to cease all matches immediately in the interest of public health.

While cricket is a relatively safe and non-contact sport the Board is compelled to adhere to expert advice around reducing the risk of spreading the virus, specifically on minimising the risk and impact on the cricket communities, as well as their families.

For those Grand Final matches that have commenced the Board have decided to award joint premierships to both teams.

Congratulations to the following teams

Under 16(2) Pascoe Vale Hadfield and St Bernards

Under 14(1) Youlden Parkville and Greenvale Kangaroos

Under 12(2) Maribyrnong Park St Mary’s and Airport West St Christophers

Under 12(5) Gladstone Park and Tullamarine

For those matches yet to start the team that finished higher on the ladder at the end of the home and away season shall be declared the premiership team.

Under 12(7) Semi Final - Craigieburn V Doutta Stars set for Wednesday 18th March - Match is now officially abandoned

Under 12(7) Premiership is awarded to St Albans CC - congratulations

Aub Giddings Veterans Shield - Premiership awarded to Airport West St Christophers CC - congratulations

We thank all clubs for their understanding in this matter during this challenging and disruptive time.

Regards

Peter Bryceson

President

For and Behalf of the NWMCA Board.
